The mayor of Mauges-sur-Loire, Gilles Piton, is positioning himself in the context of the legislative elections. In a press release, he announced his support for the outgoing MP, Nicole Dubré-Chirat in the 6th constituency of Maine-et-Loire (Angers-Mauges). Having come out on top in the first round with 35.28% of the vote, Nicole Dubré-Chirat (Ensemble!) will face Tim Pavageau, the National Rally candidate who came in second (28.82%).

“It seems essential to me to maintain stability for our rural territory”

“As part of her mandate as a member of parliament, Nicole Dubré-Chirat has demonstrated availability and has put her parliamentary skills at our service to contribute to municipal action. She has done so with her experience as an elected official and with her professional expertise that can be transferred to municipal issues. Very attached to this collaboration and keen to preserve “the good living together” that is our strength, it seems to me today essential to maintain stability for our rural territory”, he says.

As a preamble, the mayor returned to the results of the first round. “Our country is currently experiencing upheavals that are impacting the daily lives of its inhabitants. We must be aware of these difficulties and, above all, know how to analyse their causes. This discontent has led to protest votes both in the European elections and in this first round of the legislative elections.”
