The first trip was to take place in a year, in December 2025. It seems that the official launch of the southern portion of metro line 15 is finally postponed of several months.

Traveling to the suburbs while avoiding Paris

“The unprecedented complexity of this new system and the difficulties of these first tests lead to revise the end-2025 target. Additional time is in progress

New objective: summer 2026. Tests should be carried out in the coming weeks as well as “replanning work with all partners” in order to refine the schedule by early 2025.

“We need to deepen our testing phases, to guarantee a level
of optimal technical performance, in particular for Île-de- Mobilités which will be responsible for managing it. We are making the decision to delay commissioning, for this purpose and in transparency with our partners, elected officials and Ile-de-France residents,” insisted Jean-François MonteilsChairman of the Board of Directors of the Société des Grands Projets.

From suburb to suburb without passing through Paris

As a reminder, line 15 is one of the four new metro lines that make up the Grand Paris Express. A large-scale project whose ambition is simple: to enable Ile-de-France residents to moving from suburb to suburb without going through Paris.

THE lines 15, 16, 17 and 18 were created.

– Line 15: it is divided into three portions (east, west and south) and should cross Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-.

– Line 16: it will connect Saint-Denis to Noisy-Champs, serving ten stations.

Line 17: it will leave Saint-Denis, direction Le Mesnil-Amelot in Seine-et-Marne, stopping along its way at seven stations.

– Line 18: same route as 17, but in the opposite direction, it will leave airport, direction in . Eight stations will be served between the two.
