After the A14, it is around the Normandy motorway that it will become a “free-flow toll” lane, according to Sanef terminology. Understand that it will not be no need to stop anymore at the Buchelay toll (Yvelines) from Tuesday morning, December 10, 2024, going to or coming from the west of the country, the journey being invoiced to the motorist retrospectively.
« 80% of trips on the Paris-Normandy axis will thus be carried out in free flow”, rejoices the motorway manager in a press release. The tolls of Heudebouville (Eure), Incarville, Beuzeville and Dozulé (Calvados) must suffer the same fate.
Gradual switching during the night
During the night of December 9 to 10, the creation of a new roadway as well as the installation of new signage are on the program near the Buchelay toll.
“The agents will finalize the painting work on the three temporary lanes, currently under construction, on the right in the direction of traffic before removing the concrete blocks,” explains Sanef. In the morning, traffic will be in free flow on these routes. »
During construction, drivers will be guided towards non-neutralized lanes.
“You will have to be very vigilant about the signs during the night. When approaching the area, it is also important to reduce your speed in order to protect the officers and workers on site. »
Sanef strongly encourages motorists to find out about traffic conditionsthe night in question, because they differ depending on the area crossed. “The tracks will be neutralized in Heudebouville, for example. Customers will have to exit the motorway and take a detour via the secondary network. »
New habits to adopt
The entire project to transform the A13 into a free-flow toll must be completed by 2027.
“Secondly, the lanes in the center will be deconstructed then a new straight highway will be created without the toll right-of-way,” indicates the manager. The company invites motorists who have not yet done so “to find out more and register on the website. »
It is through their customer account on the site or with one of the 10,000 approved tobacco shops that drivers, not equipped with an electronic toll badge, will now have to pay for their journeys within 72 hours. Otherwise, penalties ranging from €80 to €375 may be claimed.
