Several former MPs and candidates of New Popular Front of Hérault (Sylvain Carrière, LFI deputy for the 8th district; Magali Crozier, LFI candidate for the 6th; Nadia Belaouni, LFI candidate for the 9th; Sébastien Rome, outgoing LFI deputy defeated for the 4th; Gabriel Blasco, PCF candidate for the 7th and Jean -Louis Roumegas, EELV deputy of the 1st) are organizing, with the Quartier Généreux, a day of meeting and action against the RN.
Better understand the rise of the RN
The event will take place on November 30 on the third places of Macondo in Montarnaud, where a myriad of associations and cooperative enterprises work in particular in favor of the ecological transition. One of the major challenges of this day consists of creating a sort of observatory of the extreme right. We propose to continue to campaign and reflect on the subject of the rise of the extreme right “to better understand and against the rise of RM in the territory”.
Challenging far-right ideas
During this day marked by debate and commitment, the representatives of the NPF wish to achieve collectivelywith citizens, “to outline perspectives d’actions communities to fight against the scourge that threatens our values and our territory… Our objective: push back against far-right ideas in our beautiful department and return to the South its popular and united heritage.”
“The NPF has succeeded in countering the far right, but the danger has not disappeared: we have simply bought a little time”
For the former LFI deputy Sebastian Romeafter the frightening result of the last legislative elections, it is a question of raising our heads and organizing the reaction: “In Hérault, our ideas have retreated on several fronts. With campaign teams from constituencies particularly threatened by the RN, we decided to propose a day of exchanges and training this November 30 to strengthen our collective commitment. Activists of yesterday, today or tomorrow, we need to rediscover this force collective and not to give in to isolation.”
Exchanges, debates and practical workshops
For the NPF, there is an urgent need to react: “The prospect of seeing the National Rally in power to me on alert many consciences and mobilized thousands of people. Last June, we mobilized to bring our ideas and values to the National Assembly in a context where threats to freedom of expression, the rights of minorities, the independence of justice, the rights of foreigners, ecological investment, the fight against social inequalities and racism were accumulating… The New Popular Front has succeeded in countering the extreme right, but the danger has not disappeared however: we simply gained a little time. It is imperative that we take advantage of this time. We therefore look forward to seeing you on November 30 for a day full of exchanges, debates and practical workshops.”
