Suspected of being an Indian hemp trafficker, Thomas Diatta was tortured in his hospital bed on Monday, November 18 by elements of the Foundiougne gendarmerie, informs Seydi Gassama.
According to the executive director of Amnesty International, Senegal section, gendarmes went to Foundiougne hospital to question him following suspicions against him. It was during this interrogation that he was allegedly tortured, despite the opposition of hospital agents, according to Seydi Gassama on Rfm, who announced the filing of a complaint against the gendarmes involved and requested compensation for the victim. .
Suspected of being drug traffickers, Thomas Diatta and one of his friends were pursued by gendarmes while they were on board a motorcycle. It was during this chase that they fell, Thomas evacuated to hospital.
The alleged perpetrators of these acts, including the brigade commander, were arrested after an investigation carried out by the provost brigade, according to RFM.
