Demonstration – Haute-Vienne taxis are organizing a snail operation in Limoges this Wednesday, with blockades around hospitals
A major mobilization of taxis is planned for this Wednesday in Limoges, according to Le Populaire du Centre. The gathering will begin at 7:30 a.m. in the Casseaux parking lot. From there, drivers will begin a snail-like operation that will cross the city center, generating significant slowdowns on the main roads.
At the same time, filter dams are announced around the Limoges University Hospital and the Chénieux clinic, promising a disrupted day in the department.
Taxis denounce an untenable situation
At the origin of this movement, the Haute-Vienne taxi union expresses “profound fed up”. Among their main demands are a reduction in budgets allocated to medical transport, compulsory discounts of 20% imposed on certain journeys, and increasing constraints linked to Social Security requirements. “We provided solutions last January, but nothing has changed,” laments Jérôme Taillefer, president of the departmental union.
