Residents are deprived of hot water and heating in Locle. Several tenants of buildings 2 and 4 on rue Georges-Favre contacted the municipal authorities to complain about their living conditions. For 10 days, residents have no longer been able to rely on their boiler, they explain in an email addressed to the Loclois municipal council. “Some tenants are forced to heat their homes with makeshift means such as kerosene heaters, putting their health at risk,” they warn. Tenants still denounce the humidity generating mold, regular flooding of cellars or even equipment that has been unusable “for months”.
No news from the owner
The management informed the tenants of the end of the mandate binding it to the owner of the buildings at the end of the year and that it would not carry out urgent repairs for financial reasons. The limited company that owns the buildings “no longer gives any sign of life”, specifies a press release from the Locle authorities.
Emergency repairs needed
Faced with the urgency of the situation and given the winter temperatures, the Municipal Council will launch steps “without delay” to carry out the necessary work. “The City of Le Locle will guarantee the cost of these and then charge them to the owner,” details the press release. /comm-gtr
