Bullfights and bullfights in Pamplona from the end of this week
The San Fermin fair in Pamplona 2024 will officially begin, as is the tradition, on Sunday 7 July. The bullfights will begin on Friday 5 July with the novillada piquée, followed by the rejoneo on Saturday 6 July and the eight bullfights of the Navarrese cycle, which will end on 14 July. The encierros will begin on 7 July (at 8 am) and will be broadcast live on RTVE 1, a channel available on Orange, SFR and Bouygues boxes or on the Internet at the following address: www.rtve.es/play/videos/directo. San Fermin at the Montois Bullfighting Club
The Cercle taurin montois will broadcast all of the bullfights in Pamplona on the big screen, starting July 7. Meet at 21 rue Batelière, in Mont-de-Marsan, at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free.
Eauze postponed, novillada in Castelnau-Rivière-Basse
Castelnau Rivière-Basse is organizing its traditional novillada without picadors on Saturday, July 6, at 6 p.m. On the menu, six novillos from different ganaderias in the Southwest, Astarac, Le Lartet, Malabat, Camino de Santiago, Alma Serena and La Espera for Juan Mi Vidal, Jaime Padilla and Jairo Lopez. Reservations at 06 67 35 34 33 or 06 75 69 21 28. Eauze, which had planned its bullfighting day and its corrida on July 7, has postponed its festivities to September 14, with an unchanged program.
Novillada without picadors in Plaisance-du-Gers on July 14
The Vivement 5 heures peña in Plaisance-du-Gers will be organising its traditional novillada without picadors on 14 July. On the programme for the day, at 9 am, snacks at the arena, at 10.30 am, introduction to bullfighting for all, at 11 am, fiesta campera with the aficionados practicos from Nîmes, at 1 pm, aficion meal and, at 6 pm, novillada without picadors with three novillos from Jalabert and three from Roland Durand for Julio Mendez, Pedro Rufo and Jorge Hurtado. From 8.30 pm, a big tapas and bodega evening, hosted by Paco y Sono. Information and reservations at the tourist office on 05 62 08 26 60.
Novillos de Palmeral to Saint-Sever
The Jeune Aficion peña is organizing its 40th anniversary this yeare Bullfighting and cultural week. On this occasion, a great novillada without picador is planned for Sunday, October 13, with the best novilleros of the temporada facing six novillos from the El Palmeral ganaderia, originally Atanasio Fernandez, who will be making a big comeback in the bullrings.
