Fontaine-Simon. The “Chevy weekend” hosted in Perche. The 34th e edition of the annual gathering of the Classique Chevy Club France (50 members) took place this weekend in Fontaine-Simon.

This national club brings together Chevrolet brand vehicles “dating from 1955, 1956 and 1957,” explains Olivier Morin, its president.

For the occasion, twenty-two vehicles and their drivers came from all over France, including Savoie and Hérault for the furthest away.

A Chevy weekend punctuated by rides on the roads of Perche, visits (châteaux de la Rivière and des Vaux in Pontgouin, Aritoire farm in La Madeleine-Bouvet), a 50’s rock musical evening and a night at the Perche campsite in Fontaine-Simon, Saturday.

An unmissable meeting for these fans of beautiful American women made possible thanks to the help of the “local of the stage”, Jean-Louis Girand, a native of Chartres who came with Frédéric Mercier, local elected official in Fontaine-Simon.

On Saturday, the participants met at the end of the afternoon at the municipal stadium of Fontaine-Simon to share their passion for American culture, and in particular for the iconic automobile, with visitors in a good atmosphere, alongside the aperitif offered by the municipal council.

The public was able to admire unique Chevrolets manufactured from 1948 for the first versions, models from 1955, 1956, Bel-Air 1957 “with their machine guns on the hood”, rarer models such as station wagon, coupe, sports and luxury version.
