Since the beginning of March 2024, the North of Toulouse has been hit by a wave of burglaries. The Burglary Investigation Group (GEC) of the Toulouse Saint-Michel Departmental Gendarmerie Company conducted an in-depth investigation to put an end to this increase in thefts. Their efforts bore fruit, resulting in the seizure of more than 100 pieces of jewelry, probably from these burglaries.

In 2023, the number of burglaries increased by 4% in Haute-Garonne according to the prefecture. In 2022, this figure reached +11%. CThey are the residential areas located in the north-east of Toulouse which are the most affected.
