The Corporate Social Responsibility Act requires companies to take into account the voluntary integration of social and ecological concerns in their business activities and their relationships with their stakeholders. Although at present this law only requires listed companies to submit a report, many SMEs, and even micro-enterprises, are adopting measures that serve the interests of the planet.

Whether in private and public companies, associations or local authorities, awareness of environmental protection has been omnipresent since 2019, with the PACTE law. Today, five years later, this theme is even more relevant since the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), since the beginning of 2024, the new directive proposed by the European Commission aimed at updating the extra-financial reporting of companies by integrating new measures.

The number of companies covered by the CSRD will increase from 11,700 today to almost 50,000 nationally, with this expansion being mainly due to changes in reporting criteria.

CSR in the public sector

We mostly report on eco-responsible initiatives from private companies, but this time, the approach comes from three public organizations. Indeed, on Tuesday, June 18, the Landes Territorial Hospital Group (GHT), which brings together the Mont-de-Marsan, Dax and Saint-Sever Hospital Centers, announced its commitment to the free, participatory approach “Mon Restau Responsable”.
