Between picturesque Berber villages, green hills and fascinating archaeological sites, the Trans Tunisia Trekking Trail invites hikers on an immersive journey into the heart of Tunisian history and nature.

The first section of this long-distance hiking trail, linking Sidi Jdidi to Nabeul, reveals breathtaking landscapes and little-known treasures of Tunisian heritage. The ancient city of Aradi, today known as Sidi Jdidi, offers a striking testimony to the rich Roman history of the region. The remains of two Christian basilicas, unearthed by archaeological excavations, transport visitors to a bygone era.

The prehistoric caves of Sidi Latrach, dug into the rock by the first inhabitants of the region, offer a fascinating insight into daily life at the dawn of history. These caves, which served as burial chambers, are a precious testimony to the culture and beliefs of our ancestors.

The Berber village of Douar Laaroussi, nestled at the foot of the El Monchar hills, offers an immersion into Tunisian rural life. Visitors will be able to discover local crafts, taste local products and meet the friendly inhabitants of the village.

The Trans Tunisia Trekking Trail is much more than just a hiking trail. It is part of a sustainable tourism approach, aiming to promote the natural and cultural riches of Tunisia while respecting the environment and supporting local communities.
