At around 8:10 a.m. on Tuesday, a witness reported that a cable was fraying between two high-voltage electricity pylons, not far from the eastern ring road of Caen (Calvados), near Mondeville.
Traffic was disrupted for about an hour.
The fire brigade was called, then Enedis and finally the network manager, RTE. Traffic on the ring road was cut off as a precaution, at the level of the anomaly.
An RTE specialist finally concluded that there was no risk of rupture but a repair was scheduled for the end of the week. The intervention was completed around 9:15 a.m. and traffic returned to normal.
