While this summer it completed a series of investments of 15 million euros started in 2021, Rehlko recently announced its intention to implement a similar investment plan for the next three years at its Guipavas site , near Brest (Finistère). This is where the generator manufacturer, formerly Kolher Energy, has its headquarters in Europe.
The group, which passed into the hands of the American fund Platinum Equity in May 2024, wants to double the production capacities of high-power generators (up to 4,500 kVA) at its Brest factory in five years. Rehlko's goal is to increase from the 700 units of this type currently produced per year to 1,500 by 2028.
Backup generators for data centers and hospitals
For the manufacturer, which employs 807 people in Finistère, it is a question of boosting the production of this emergency equipment used in particular for hospitals and data centers, for which demand is sharply increasing. “In a world where artificial intelligence and data continue to grow, where our vehicles become electric, where climatic events bring uncertainty, where renewable energies require stability, securing energy is a vital issue.», Explains the group in a press release.
With these investments, Rehlko aims to increase its turnover, the amount of which it does not reveal, by 70 to 80% in four years. Rehlko thus continues his momentum. In recent years, the American manufacturer had already invested 15 million euros in the extension of the Brest site, with 42,800 m² covered, in order to increase its production and storage capacities.
