Gers launches its Monopoly in the colors of the department

“It’s a great project to present the Gers in a fun way. Gers tourism is an essential economic sector, with Monopoly in the colors of the department we have a new string to our bow”, underlines this Tuesday, November 26, Philippe Dupouy president of the Department, during the presentation of the game. Alongside him, Elodie Lanavepresident of the CDT Gers, “confirms that it is a real promotional tool which will encourage people to explore and discover the Gers. This special Gers edition of the Monopoly game illustrates the identity and riches of our territory.” It is in partnership with the company Hasbro and developed by Laurent Caplat of the BM-Services Agency, that the Departmental Council and CDT 32 are launching this original edition.

Faithful to the rules of the classic game, Monopoly Gers invites players to discover the treasures of the territory through 40 entirely personalized squares.

The 22 main boxes are dedicated to the cantonal capitals and emblematic villages of the department. The four stations were transformed into major tourist sites, notably the Musée d'Artagnan in Lupiac, the Abbaye de Flaran, the Circuit Paul Armagnac in Nogaro, and the regional contemporary art space Memento in .

On the industrial side, the water and electricity companies have been replaced by flagship agri-food sectors such as the Gascogne vineyards and Gers foie gras.

Players will find the Chance and Community Chest boxes, nods to Gers culture with references to emblematic events and places such as the Jazz in Marciac festival, the double lock of Graziac, the Bandas de Condom festival, the Museum of the Americas in Auch, and even the Club Auch.

And at the end of a lively game “you will quickly realize that happiness is in the Gers”.

List of points of sale is accessible on the official website: www.monopoly-gers.fr or in the network of local distributors (toy stores, tourist offices, press houses and hypermarkets).
