In Morocco, Raja Casablanca won its ninth Throne Cup football title for the 2022-2023 season by triumphing over AS FAR (Royal Armed Force) by 2 goals to 1. The final took place on Monday at the Grand Stade d’Agadir.

The “Greens and Whites” quickly took the lead thanks to a goal by Yousri Bouzok in the 4th minute of play. However, AS FAR responded in the 28th minute with a goal by Amine Zouhzouh, thus equalizing the game. The winning goal for Raja Casablanca came from Mohamed Boulacsoute in the 78th minute, sealing the fate of the match.

The start of the match saw a Raja Casablanca, recently crowned national champions, enter with determination, opening the scoring early. This dazzling start forced the AS FAR players, led by Nasreddine Nabi, to react by increasing the pressure on the Raja defense, which led to the equalizer.

The second half was marked by a balanced clash, with each team seeking to take the lead in this highly symbolic match. Finally, Mohamed Boulacsoute surprised the Military defense with a goal in the 78th minute, concluding a meticulously orchestrated attack.

Despite several threatening attempts, AS FAR failed to come back into the game. This title crowns a remarkable season for Raja Casablanca, who remain undefeated.

With this new victory, Raja Casablanca has won its ninth Throne Cup title, taking second place among the most successful clubs in this competition, tied with its rival Wydad Casablanca and behind AS FAR, holder of twelve titles.

At the end of the match, the trophy was presented to the captain of Raja Casablanca, Anas Zniti, by the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, in the presence of Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.
