The City of Laval (Mayenne) offers several events around the Place du 11-Novembre during the summer, “on the theme of nature in the city, to support the transformations of this place and its uses”.
Until September, “Nature in the city, open your eyes” will allow you to see “the heart of the city is adorned with greenery”with some “plant walls, planters, flowerbeds and ephemeral gardens that take over the streets”.
Meetings on the forecourt of the Town Hall
Natural Thursdays will highlight “unsuspected flora and fauna, along the new developments of the square, in the form of walks”. Some spaces becoming “true sanctuaries for these creatures”. Meet us on July 18 and August 22 on the forecourt of the Hôtel-de-ville, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
In the same place, in partnership with the Science Museum, the exhibition “Les Herbiers de la Place” will transport participants “through time, in the heart of nature and history”. This collection of herbariums reveals “all the buried secrets of our earth, to bear witness to the evolution of our environment”.
New “martinets aperitif” on July 4
Still on the forecourt, a new “martinets aperitif” is scheduled for Thursday, July 4, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Objective: “Help the Nature Initiation Center to inventory the nests of black swifts and swallows, in order to observe their behavior and shed light on their lives”. An inventory which will also be “the opportunity for a friendly time”.
