20 French rappers participated in a video calling for a vote against the far right. With committed but above all outrageous remarks, the verses follow one another for nine minutes to, among other things, target the Le Pen family and Jordan Bardella. The rapper from Sète Demi-Portion participated in the video.

“Jordan, you are dead”, “Jordan, you are dead” “, resumes rapper Fianso (Sofiane Zermani), in reference to the gimmick created by MMA fighter Cédric Doumbé, when he was preparing to face his opponent Jordan Zébo. The rapper, originally from Seine-Saint-Denis, opens a nine-minute long rap track, published on YouTube Monday, July 1st. The song clearly calls for mobilization against the extreme right, and some rappers indulge in insults against the Le Pen family or Jordan Bardella.

“No Pasaran”, in homage to the anti-Francoist republican slogan during the Spanish Civil War, brings together experienced rappers (Fianso, Soso Maness, Akhenaton, Seth Gueko) and lesser-known rappers, from Paris to Marseille. Some are more virulent than others in their lyrics, like the rapper Alkpote: “Marion et Marine les pu***”.

Rapper Akhenaton, formerly of the legendary group IAM, opts for more flexible remarks: “Nothing has changed, I prefer the outstretched hand to the outstretched arm.”

Rapper Demi-Portion participated in the clip. The 40-year-old native of Sète appears in 18th position in the video. Here is his verse:

“Let me do it, we have the method, one less eye for Marine’s father

There are too many colors, yes, in my ghetto, fuck the clones if the FN arrives
Shh? It’s normal, I say what I think, so shut up, I have my distance
But who is like us? Who brings us together? We have roots so I have my networks
Racists vote, so do we, and my heart is in Palestine
We remain proud, these are our principles and my heart is in Palestine
We arrive in a rush, we create an opening, we score a goal
We got the trick, we give you an eight, but I still want more”

From his real name Rachid Daif, Demi-Portion grew up on the Isle of Thau in Sète, and has been rapping since a very young age.

But some netizens are already worried that “No Pasaran” will have the opposite effect of its initial goal. Already criticized for its sexist, conspiratorial lyrics, and references to controversial figures (Ramzan Kadyrov, the openly homophobic president of Chechnya), the song is divisive everywhere, even on the left, although some verses call for voting for the New Popular Front.
