By September, the 9 ViaSanté stores will close their doors permanently. Among them, 8 are in Occitanie, the majority of which are in the Pyrénées-Orientales.

“Recurring and worsening economic difficulties”

In a press release dated June 28, 2024, the management of Optique Mutualiste ViaSanté indicated that it had “made the difficult decision tostop its activity ».

For several years, the company has been faced with “the presence of powerful operators with considerable resources, particularly in terms of mass communication, extensive national store networks, and negotiating strength with suppliers.”

Despite ongoing efforts to commercially revitalize the company and control its cost structure, Optique Mutualiste VIASANTÉ is facing recurring and worsening economic difficulties: it has been recording structurally loss-making results since 2018, due to a very insufficient flow of customers in stores, down 33% over the period 2018-2023.

No buyer has been found despite two months of study. The economic situation structurally in deficit Optique Mutualiste ViaSanté did not allow these recovery procedures to go any further.

“In this context and in the absence of viable recovery prospects or takeover by a player in the optical sector […] The General Assembly took the difficult decision to dissolve the structure in order to devote the remaining financial capacity primarily to the social support of employees.

Perpignan, Rodez, Toulouse, Carcassonne…

The company had 5 stores in the Pyrénées-Orientales: two in Perpignanone to capstanone to Argeles-sur-Mer and one last one to meadows.

She is also present at Carcassonne (Hear), Rodez (Aveyron) and Toulouse (Haute-Garonne). His latest boutique is located in Dordogne, in Perigueux. In all likelihood, all of these stores will close by September.
