Summer will once again be very rich in Menton. Many activities and entertainment for all audiences are scheduled in July in the Côte d’Azur city.

As every year, the municipality of Menton and the tourist office have planned an enticing program to occupy your summer. This should delight a very diverse public with activities for all tastes. Sportsmen, musicians, art lovers or simply party-goers, you will have something to have fun.

To start with the major musical events, we must mention the Music Festival. A 75th edition that will take place from July 27 to August 12. Every day, you can attend a classical music concert in an idyllic setting.

There will also be the big evening “Ça c’est le Sud”, in connection with the eponymous tour, on July 20. Note the presence of Joyce Jonathan and Flora, from the show The Voice, or even the comedian specializing in illusion, Eric Leblon. All with free admission.

Also don’t miss the Nuits du Soleil on July 15. In an electro atmosphere, come and admire the performance of DJ Pete Kassidy. The dance floor awaits you from 9 p.m., before a fireworks display from the Baie des Sablettes. Note that this event will conclude the inauguration of the Promenade de la Mer, which will kick off at 7 p.m.

As for the exhibitions, you will be served. At the Serre de la Madone garden, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary, “Trop belle pour disparu” is being held, based on the work of photographer Patrick Blanc. Until the end of October, several events and musical festivities will complement this presentation. In the Galerie des Musées du Palais de l’Europe, the artist Claude Como is highlighting “Sweet Symphony”, a new work of 60 meters.

At the Jean Cocteau bastion, the third part of the “Château des illusions” will take place starting July 5. In addition to the creations of the famous writer, painter and filmmaker, you will discover some additional festivities. We are thinking in particular of the musical reading of Jean Cocteau’s texts on July 4 or the screening of the film on the artist every day at 10 a.m., except Tuesday. Note that the full-price ticket is 5 euros.

Let’s also not forget the exhibition “The Origins of Sport” on sports practice in Prehistory and Antiquity at the regional museum of Prehistory (free for children).

Other dates to check off, such as the arrival of the crossing of the Alps by the decorated 205s, the famous Alpina Raid, on July 5. Let’s also talk about the Tôlon Africa evening, on Sunday July 21 on the Francis Palmero esplanade. On the menu, Zaouli mask, singing, dancing, percussion, drums, African cuisine and entertainment.

The other major event will be the Saint-Pierre festival on July 6. A day marked by a fishing competition for children, a procession after mass and the lighting of the boat.

Of course, July 14 will be celebrated with the firefighters’ ball on Place Francis Palmero (8 p.m.), and you will surely enjoy spending some time at the artisans’ market (first and third weekend of each month) or at the one planned in the evening on the Jean Cocteau forecourt. Between 6:30 p.m. and midnight, enjoy the products offered by the thirty or so exhibitors: arts and crafts, costume jewelry, paintings, etc.

On the sports side, beach volleyball tournaments will take place on July 11, 18, 25, as well as sailing courses, the bike parade (July 20) and Just Danse evenings on Fridays July 12 and 26. Finally, you should know that you can participate in various workshops and visits to Menton’s heritage with a guide.
