Longueuil police are looking for other victims of a repeat fraudster who allegedly sold fake asphalt paving contracts to residents on the South Shore of Montreal.

“He demanded deposits from his clients of amounts varying between $450 and $3,700, payable in cash. In some cases, the work was partially completed or was simply never undertaken,” revealed the Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL) on Tuesday morning.

Patrice Lamer, 42, was arrested by SPAL investigators. He was the subject of at least five arrest warrants. The total amount of his fraud amounts to more than $40,000.

“He went to people’s homes to get quotes for asphalting residential driveways on behalf of the company Gestion Multi-Pro,” they said.

This is not the first time the forty-year-old has committed an outrage. He had already been found guilty of at least nine counts of fraud in 2016 in Longueuil.

South Shore targeted

Lamer is linked to about twenty police files. These events all took place on the South Shore of Montreal, including some in Brossard or in the Saint-Hubert sector.

It should be noted that the scammer did not only offer asphalt paving work to his victims. With his little scheme, the crook also offered painting, balcony repair and paving stone services.

“If you have been a victim of Patrice Lamer, please contact 450 463-7211,” suggests SPAL.
