In what frame of mind did you approach this first training session?

We were eager to get back to work because we had long weeks of vacation this year. I recovered well, took a good break, and we are already fully committed to our goals and the desire to do well. There have been several returns from loaned players who tell us about their past experience. It is important to discuss and look forward to this new season which will be, I hope, full of emotions.

How do you feel about the start of this championship, which is starting late (August 17) this year?

There is still the (financial) situation of the club to be clarified but, as every summer, we know that the transactions will be released in the last half of August. And, for their part, the players already present are all preparing individually as best they can. We want to start well like last year but, this time, by continuing this good launch to try to get something. The fact that there is a little less movement for the moment can also bring us serenity.

The challenge of this off-season is to maintain the good momentum maintained at the end of last season, and why not aim for promotion?

Yes, not to mention that the players who are coming back from loan have had a great season and bring freshness to the group. The goal is to build on what has been done well since coach Nicolas Seube took over the group. We are all convinced of what we are capable of doing, aware of the qualities that exist in this squad. Before the big battles that await us every weekend, it is important to prepare well during the summer. We are not going to talk about promotion objectives right away, but after what we have experienced in the last six months, everyone is motivated by this prospect, and I signed for the club to try to get it back up to Ligue 1. With the fervour of our supporters who are already signing up in droves, we have to do the job on the pitch. And that requires good preparation, in a place we are not familiar with, in Switzerland. It will do us good to trek through the mountains.
