Florence Perrin withdraws despite qualifying for the second round of the legislative elections in the Rhône. The NFP candidate, who came 3rd in the votes, calls for a “Republican vote” against the RN.
The triangular situations, unusually high for these legislative elections, give rise to numerous withdrawals. In the 10th constituency of the Rhône, Florence Perrin, in turn announced that she was withdrawing in order to “face [ses] responsibilities.”
The New Popular Front candidate came third in the ballot, with 23.64% of the votes cast. The outgoing deputy (Together) Thomas Gassilloud came in first with 32.54% of the votes, ahead of Cécile Patout (RN) at 31.15%.
“I call for a Republican vote”
“The RN must not win a single more seat,” she wrote in a press release. “This is why I have decided, in agreement with my deputy, to withdraw for the second round. I am calling for a Republican vote in favor of the outgoing deputy Thomas Gassilloud,” she said in a press release.
“We invited all our activists to continue their commitment to block” the far-right party, she continues.
