Saturday June 29 around 6:30 p.m., residents of rue Étienne Richerand in Lyon (3rd) called the police to report that an individual was committing damage in the common areas of the building. He was actually trying to break down doors to break into apartments and, after several attempts, he succeeded. When a police crew arrived on the scene, they found themselves confronted with an individual who was coming out of a home whose door was broken, carrying a suitcase.
A suitcase full of stolen items
The police decided to check him, and he then pushed them to try to escape. He was finally arrested, not without difficulty because he rebelled. In the apartment he had just “visited”, the police found a great deal of disorder and damage. The suitcase, belonging to one of the flatmates, was full of stolen objects, which were returned to their owners. The accused, aged 37 and known to the police, admitted to the burglary and the attempts during his police custody.
