The forces present
Second in an excellent European race on April 10, against quality 6 and 7 year olds, GAI MATIN (13) then refined his physical condition with a view to this objective. Presented barefoot this time, this difficult subject could allow Jean-Michel Bazire to win his eponymous Quinté+. However, the game is not won in advance against GERONIMO FUEGO (10), convincing winner recently in Angers, GRANIT DU FRESNE (12), who finds a prize within his reach, and GAVROCHE DE L’ITON (5), impeccable in recent times in good quality events. With a nice burst of final speed, GAGNEUR (7) has shown on several occasions that he can shine with his irons and deserves a note of suspicion. GLYCINA BELLA (6), not to be condemned for her last failure, FALKO DE NOUVILLE (11), to be credited with a good end of the race on May 29 in Hyères, as well as GENET DE BOITRON (9), whose penultimate attempt is encouraging, will complete our choice.

The starters in detail and the opinions of the pros
1 – GENTLEMAN DE LARRE
This 8-year-old gelding has still not finished in the top five in a competition since the start of 2024. He will appear barefoot but will undoubtedly be more competitive soon at Cagnes-sur-Mer. Simple outsider.

“Gentleman de Larré (1) won twice at the end of last year, in Toulouse and Cagnes-sur-Mer, but he has shown absolutely nothing this season. That said, he will be running completely unshod and is not totally out of the running, given that the event is quite open for places.”
2 – FOX TROT CERISE
This brave trotter no longer has any room for maneuver and must now make do with “crumbs”. Staying on shoes is not a problem, but it seems clearly blocked by the main favorites. He would fulfill his contract by placing fifth.

3 – LAVAU FELINE
Happy winner on the grass of Erbray last time, since she benefited from a mishap, this representative of Richard Joly is clearly on the rise. She is discovering the Vichy racecourse but should appreciate this profile on the right hand. At the end of a tailor-made course, a small place could fall to her. A regret.

4 – FILOU FROM SITA
This wait-and-see player showed his form in the South-West, facing honest competitors. He has already won on this course (in June 2022) and now seems more efficient with his irons. Even if he would have clearly preferred a flying start, he is not out of the woods.

5 – ITON GAVROCHE
This handy horse has excellent performances and will once again appear barefoot, a configuration in which he has not been out of the top four during his last ten attempts. Unless there is an incident, his place is at the finish.

6 – GLYCINA BELLA
After being inserted between two quality subjects at Croisé-Laroche, on May 22, this student of Jean-Paul Marmion caused great disappointment in Pontchâteau (12th). She is confirmed on the right hand and will not have 25 meters to give this time. Rehabilitation firmly awaited.

7 – WINNER
This good sprinter had a very good first half of 2024, even if he remains on a failure on the grass of Ecommoy. He has never won on the right rope but is evolving in his category. Competitive with his irons, he is one of the candidates for the accessits.

His tenth place should be erased, especially since the slow pace did not serve his interests. On Tuesday, he discovered a favorable entry. 8 – FAUBOURG DU PERCHE
This 9-year-old gelding will compete here in the 118th race of his career and already his fifteenth of the year 2024. He is more competitive in claiming races and comes up against too many opponents. His presence at the finish would be synonymous with a huge surprise.

“I have difficulty finding Faubourg du Perche (8). His last race, at a mounted trot, was really bad. I put him in the truck so that he could accompany his comrades, and in particular Genet de Boitron (9). His task is complicated. »
9 – GENET DE BOITRON
Author of a very encouraging end to the race at Vire on May 25, this good right-hander then rubbed shoulders with too strong a match at Vincennes (15th). He returns to more reasonable ambitions and should appreciate the profile of Vichy. A place seems within his reach.

10 – GERONIMO FUEGO
After more than eleven months of scarcity, this protégé of Olivier Raffin has just returned to success in Angers, ahead of quality 7-year-olds like Hasard and Hermès Express. He will only face his elders this time and therefore seems able to confirm.

11 – Falko of New York
This venerable 9-year-old gelding regularly gives us honourable finishes to races, particularly on right-handed rings. If he benefits from a tailor-made course, preferably along the rail, he has the means to finish in the top five.

12 – ASH GRANITE
This representative of Jacques Cottel is worth much more than his recent music indicates and returns to a track that he appreciates. He has already figured in more competitive lots and logically holds a first theoretical chance.

13 – GAI MATIN
If it had not crossed paths with the downgraded Global Agreement, this difficult subject would have made for a perfect month of April. He has just refined his condition in Lisieux, with a view to this objective. Jean-Michel Bazire therefore seems well equipped to win his eponymous Quinté+.

14 – THE BROWN
A surprising third on May 4 at Vincennes, this Michaël Chevalier resident then suffered two bitter failures. He is ideally entered, at only €330 from the ceiling, but he must above all reassure at the present time.
