Present since the 20e 2012 edition, Emmanuelle Bertrand wanted to pass the torch at the end of this 32nd edition to Diana Ligeti. The cellist will succeed her from the 2025 edition.
20 concerts, more than 40 guest artists, 40 composers played, 100 works performed, two commissions and 450 children reached during school concerts. It is with « panache » that the 32nd meeting ended on June 9the edition of Beauvais International Cello Festival.
One of the highlights of this year was the concert “exceptional” in the Marissel church of the Les Paladins ensemble, on Friday June 7, with Emmanuelle Bertrand, the artistic director of the festival who assumed this role for the last year.
“She helped make Beauvais the “Cello Capital””
Indeed, the 50-year-old French cellist wanted to pass the torch at the end of the 2024 edition of the festival, its 13the as artistic director:
Emmanuelle Bertrand was able, with her high artistic commitment, with her rich and eclectic programming, with her charisma and her radiant presence, to forge links with the festival-going and Beauvais public of all ages.
The Association for the Promotion of the Cello
This is how she “prompted the sharing of unforgettable musical moments, which shaped the image of the Festival and contributed to making Beauvais in some way the “Cello Capital””.
From 2025, another cellist “renowned and experienced teacher” will succeed Emmanuelle in the person of Diana Ligeti… which has already occurred in the Oise prefecture city in 2014 and in 2022.
“Continuity in novelty” as the general director, Anne Flamand, and the music teacher, David d’Hermy, told us at the end of the 32e edition of this festival.

The programme for the 33rd edition of the festival is almost complete
Currently a professor at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris
(CNSMDP), as well as at the Regional Conservatory (CRR) of Rueil-Malmaison, Diana
Ligeti has also been Artistic Director of the American Schools of Art since 2018.

In addition to its “long international experience” as a soloist and chamber musician with
prestigious partners, she is a member of the Trio Georges Sand and Calliopée ensembles but also a soloist of the brand new Open Chamber Orchestra : “His discography has won critical acclaim.”
The new artistic director for the 2025 edition is already actively working on it. The program of the festival, which will take place from May 16 to 25, is almost complete and the theme has even already been chosen: “2025 will be the year of Brazil with rhythm and different instrumental proposals!”
