For its twenty-first edition, which took place this Sunday June 30, the Mont Blanc Marathon, a race part of the elite circuit of the Golden Trail World Series, was held in the town of Chamonix, in Haute -Savoie, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The victories were won by the Moroccan Elhousine Elazzaoui and the Swiss Judith Wyder.

The weekend’s flagship event, the marathon, began this Sunday at 6:45 a.m. for the women and 7:15 a.m. for the men, from the Place du Triangle de l’Amitié in Chamonix, marking the 4th stage of the Golden Trail World Series.

This historic and iconic race is one of the 9 global races of the Golden Trail World Series, bringing together the best trail athletes in the world. Alongside these elites, 2,300 participants, selected from 17,000 applications, lined up at the start, ready to tackle the 2,540 meters of positive elevation gain.

On the men’s side, after two withdrawals and a 4th place, Elhousine Elazzaoui triumphed in 3h30’00”. He had to wait until his 4th participation to finally raise his arms in the streets of Chamonix. Elhousine Elazzaoui won his first victory in the Mont-Blanc Marathon, and confirmed his first place in the general classification of the Golden Trail Series. He preceded the Swiss Rémi Bonnet, second in 3h30’56”, and Roberto Delorenzi, who completed the podium with a time of 3h33’07”.

Among the women, Judith Wyder won with a time of 4h11’12”. She beat the Romanian Madalina Florea, second in 4h13’42”, and the Chinese Miao Yao, third in 4h18’30”.
