Initially, eco-delegates only existed in secondary schools, middle schools and high schools. Since then, the system has been extended to elementary schools. The Mellois high school, responsible for running the network, organized a mutualization day for the fourth year.

“We invite all establishments in the network, explains Laurence Cailbault, reference teacher. For some, transportation is complicated. This is often the case for schools, with the added difficulty of having the teacher replaceable, he does not come with his whole class.

On June 6, the schools of Pouffonds and Lezay made the trip, as well as the colleges of Brioux-sur-Boutonne, Celles-sur-Belle, Sauzé-Vaussais and Lezay. The eco-delegates carry out awareness-raising actions throughout the year. The objective of this day is in particular to discuss the projects carried out, a way to conclude the school year. “There are training times for teachers, that’s when we start building the day’s program. We started preparing for this edition in October. It’s essential that teachers see each other beforehand.”

Discuss completed projects and conclude the school year

On the program for this day, the prize giving ceremony for the biodiversity photo competition, offered to the entire Éclore network. “We feel that the dynamism of previous years has died down. Celles-sur-Belle, for example, did not participate, whereas last year they had submitted some great photos. It depends on the presence or absence of motivated students, who are then the driving force.”

Workshop Series

The day is also a training time for students, with a series of workshops. “We are lucky to have students from the agricultural high school in the first year of BTS management and nature protection. This is an opportunity for them to start trying their hand at animation. They offered four workshops. There are also workshops offered by network establishments. Sauzé-Vaussais offered us the creation of poufs from shopping bags, they won an award for this project. »

High school students from Desfontaines offered a workshop on the climate fresco, a workshop at the educational pond for the youngest and a last one on the seasonality of fruits and vegetables. A zero waste picnic brought together young and old.

Note that the Mellois high school was awarded an award for the fourth time, this time under the Éclore network. A video film presenting the previous day of eco-delegates received the academic prize for eco-delegates action.

Chloé, eco-delegate since September

The Desfontaines high school students are on the front line for this day and for the whole year. Example with Chloé, a final year student. “I have been an eco-delegate since September. I wanted to get involved in the life of the high school because I realized that I was never aware of what was happening there. This year, we carried out a project around the manufacture and installation of benches in the backyard of the high school. A project that was done with the ESAT of Melle. Our mission is to carry out actions to raise awareness among students on environmental issues. This day is very pleasant for us, we have a role of “big” and animation.”
