Cazim Suljic

The new AS Nancy-Lorraine midfielder answered a few questions following his arrival at the club.

How do you feel after signing with the club?

First of all, I feel relieved because I had a pretty difficult summer last year and being able to go on vacation with a free mind was important to me. Then, I’m really happy to join ASNL, it’s a great opportunity for me.

What motivated you to choose AS Nancy-Lorraine?

Despite other great requests, ASNL remains a major National team and a major French football club. Playing here will be something big for me. In addition, the speeches from the management and the coach really pleased me and made me want to join the club, it’s the project I was looking for.

What are your personal goals for this season?

The goals are always the same personally: to give the best of myself, to have fun with the players, the staff and the club, to be able and hope to do great things this season.

How would you describe your style of play and what you think you bring to the team?

At 27, I think I am a player who has gained experience, who knows how to read the game well and who can help balance the team. A generous player, good at recovering the ball and quite clean technically. I could also contribute, I think, on set pieces which were my strength last season.

Do you have a message for the supporters of AS Nancy-Lorraine who will soon discover you on the pitch?

I hope to meet them very soon, to feel this fervor that I have heard a lot about, which is also why I came here. Their support will be fundamental this season to be able to achieve the objectives and this rise to Ligue 2 that we are all waiting for.

How are you preparing yourself mentally and physically for this new challenge?

The preparation will be the same, with a lot of work before the start to get to the top at the beginning of July, while taking advantage of the family which will allow me to arrive with a serene and peaceful state of mind which will be the key, I think, this season.

What are your first impressions of the club facilities and the welcome you have received?

In this club, you feel a family atmosphere that put me at ease right away with caring people from the club who want to put newcomers in the best conditions, without forgetting their professionalism to help bring the club back to where it should be. Finally, you also feel the history of the club with this great stadium, the different trophies and its infrastructures which are undoubtedly one of the best in National, even in French football.
