Jorge Martín took second place in the Dutch MotoGP Grand Prix, positioning himself as the main rival of Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati). However, he was never able to truly challenge Bagnaia for victory.

After yesterday’s race in Assen, the Spanish Prima Pramac Racing rider attended a press conference where he acknowledged the superiority of the world champion, saying:

It was definitely a tough weekend, at least on Friday and Saturday morning. But we were able to turn it around with the podium on Saturday – the feeling wasn’t fantastic. But on Sunday, I have no excuses, I have to congratulate Pecco because he was on another level. I felt absolutely fine, I felt like I was riding really well, I saw the lap times and it was incredible how fast we were going. And yet he was pulling away by a few tenths every lap.

Despite not being able to win, Martín is satisfied with the result and his performance: “ I’m happy, I feel like I improved my style a lot over the weekend, I improved my feeling a lot, but it wasn’t enough. But I’m really happy with my 50th podium in my career, I think it’s a nice number. We’ll try again at Sachsenring, which I really like, and I think I can be really fast there ».
