The mining basin will be in the spotlight this Wednesday July 3, 2024 during an event not to be missed under any circumstances! The Olympic flame the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be passing through the Pas-de-Calais throughout the day and the last stage of the course will take place at Lens et Liévin. Here’s what’s in store for you.

The lighting of the cauldron is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. in Lens

The Olympic flame will leave fromAngres and his House of Sports at 5:40 p.m. to first join theArena Indoor Stadium by Liévin. It will then cross the Liévin city center before arriving at the Louvre-Lens museum. Obviously, the porters will pass through the Bollaert-Delelis stadium of RC Lens and will finish the route by going up Boulevard Basly. The Olympic cauldron will be lit at 7:20 p.m. on Place Jean-Jaurès by the legend of Blood and Gold, Eric Sikora.

And rich program is planned around the Olympic torch relay. In Angres, the Maison des Sports will host sports workshops, musical entertainment and a parade of underground miners by the Gueules Noires. The Rollencourt park in Liévin will also offer sports workshops, a reproduction of the Eiffel Tower will be exhibited.

Artistic workshops will take place at the Louvre-Lens in the presence of the Lensois giants. Sports demonstrations (blind football, field hockey) will be offered at the Bollaert stadium.

On Place Jean-Jaurès, the Olympic village will open its doors at 3:30 p.m. Entertainment will take place throughout the afternoon. On the program: Olympic jugglers, cheerleaders, breakdancing and even martial arts.
