The challenge was a big one for Lionel Royer-Perreaut in the 6th constituency (9th and part of the 10th arrondissement): to make up for the deficit of the Macronist list in the European elections (10.40%) on the left-wing bloc, credited with nearly 29% of the vote on June 9. And to hope to reduce the far-right vote thanks to its local roots: the list of Jordan Bardella (RN) had collected 36.47%, to which was added the 8.73% of Marion Maréchal (Reconquête).

But the task was too difficult for the former mayor of the 9th-10th, who moved from LR to Renaissance during the 2022 legislative elections. Last night, with 25.13%, the outgoing deputy certainly more than doubled the score of Valérie Hayer at the Europeans. But he failed 1,500 votes behind second place, which went to Christine Juste (NFP), with 28.22%.

An “unfair” result

First place goes to Olivier Fayssat (38.27%), unknown in the constituency and invested thanks to the agreement between Éric Ciotti and the National Rally. On the evening of this first round, Lionel Royer-Perreaut will observe with disappointment the approximately 2,000 votes (4.46%) of Séréna Zouaghi.I note that LR’s voices failed me” he notes.

Lionel Royer-Perreaut had nevertheless gone all out by leading a campaign “of sector mayor“, fleeing any association with the government and ridding its posters of the embarrassing face of Emmanuel Macron. While delivering to the voters met on the ground a speech of “truth:I did not understand this dissolution any more than any other French person..”
