The results of this first round of the 2024 legislative elections in this constituency anchored to the right are a small surprise insofar as Anne Brugnera had largely won the second round of the 2022 legislative elections with 59.35% of the vote.
The Marxist MP who was running for a third term is in difficulty on the evening of the 1st round.
She came in second place with 31% of the votes against the deputy mayor of Lyon in charge of social affairs, Sandrine RunelThe PS, which recovered this constituency where the environmentalist Benjamin Badouard stood in 2022, can believe it.
The constituency covers areas of Lyon that are rather “Macronist”. In addition to the 6th arrondissement, which is on the right but which Emmanuel Macron still seems to suit well, it includes the eastern part of the 3rd arrondissement.
Faced with an electoral sociology that leans to the right, the candidate of the union of the left (NFP) has resisted very well. With 38% of the votes, she increases by six points the score of Benjamin Badouard obtained in the first round in 2022.
Above all, thanks to a three-way race, Sandrine Runel can hope to be elected as a member of parliament on July 7. The RN candidate, Yannick Chaumont, with 17.9%, is in fact qualified for the second round. We will therefore be entitled to yet another triangular, given the high participation.
