Haut-Jura. Chassal-Molinges: the Simon company has taken off since its acquisition in 2022 | Jura: all the local information

Kevin Trible explains the making of molds at Simon's to the authorities present.

Created in 1959 by Paul Simon, the grandfather, the company has since its origins specialized in high-precision molds and special machines.
Kévin Trible CEO of 3th generation, after her mother Claudette arrived in business in 2009, “on the razor's edge”, and took over the company with a workforce of 5 people and a turnover of €400,000, modernizing it notably through robotization.
In 2018 the company regrouped its forces by settling in a better and more modern way in Chassal-Molinges in the former Wittmann building of 3,600m2. Three years later Kévin sold 100% of his shares with the land to a Luxembourg group United Caps, specialist in the manufacturing of plastic caps.
Which has the effect of boosting the mold business into another dimension. “Currently we have 35 employees and we have a turnover of €4.5 million, with growth prospects, while maintaining our usual activities,” explains Kevin, the general manager of Simon. Medical and pharmaceutical, cosmetics which is in decline, and the food industry, which has suffered setbacks with “plastic bashing” in recent years, are the three major markets in which the company has established itself…

A development in anticipation with the traffic jams!

“Our objective,” explains the general manager of Simon, “is to maintain these activities and the turnover that goes with them (around €3 million), but also and above all to ensure the development of the plastic caps activity of the United Caps group. , in order to continue the growth of the company.
With this in mind, investments must continue and significantly for the Chassal-Molinges site. Some have already been done, particularly in the field of metrology for €1M.
And Kevin adds “We are going to invest another €1M to develop certain tools and machines for cap molds. So we will have to increase the workforce at Simon, with the objective of 50 employees by 2027, with a turnover to reach €6.5M by the end of 2027.
A happy and encouraging outlook!
