Five days after a fatal brawl in Rumilly (Haute-Savoie), the alleged perpetrator of the shots which left one dead, voluntarily presented himself Thursday afternoon at a police station in Lyon. The Annecy public prosecutor's office indicated this Friday in a press release that he “was immediately notified of the arrest warrant issued against him”, was indicted “for assassination and attempted assassination” before be placed in pre-trial detention, confirming information from our colleagues in Dauphiné Libéré.
“He admitted to being the author of the shots, explaining that he had fired while he was hit on the ground, to escape the fight. He indicated that his intention was to shoot into the air,” indicates the prosecution. Furthermore, two people who accompanied the accused on the day of the events “spontaneously” presented themselves to investigators on Monday and Tuesday before being placed in police custody.

“They admitted to having been present at the scene of the events but indicated that they were not aware of the presence of a firearm,” explains the prosecution, specifying that these people, as well as witnesses, designated the main suspect as the shooter. They were indicted and placed under judicial supervision on Wednesday. The reason for the prosecution was not specified.

A fight quickly broke out with a group of nine people from the town. In the confusion, one of the young people from Annecy, who fell to the ground and was hit by the locals, took out a handgun and fired at least twice, according to the prosecution.
