10,600 homes in Loire-Atlantique and 4,000 in Vendée are still without electricity this Friday evening at 6 p.m. This is the consequence of the passage of storm Caetano on Thursday in these two departments. There were 15,000 at midday. The wind blew very hard. The gusts even exceeded 160 km/hour in certain places, notably in the Saint-Nazaire sector. There are still quite a few unrepaired electrical wires, cut by trees that fell on them. 460 agents are hard at work restoring power throughout the Pays de la Loire region.
A return of electricity by Saturday evening
Enedis promises a return of electricity before this Saturday evening for 90% of people affected by the cuts. At the latest, a return to normal is planned for Sunday evening. “We are moving forward with all our staff mobilized and reinforcements from other regions to lend us a hand. We have breakdowns scattered everywhere with a concentration on the coast and we are present in all these sectors. Patience if we are not still arrived, we are arriving. Our teams are very mobilized. This is our public service mission.assures Olivier Meyrueis, regional director of Enedis in Pays de la Loire.
