Four trade union organizations (CGT, FSU, CFTC and Solidaires) have decided to bring forward the Saturday November 23, 2024 the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, scheduled for Monday, November 25.
These organizations call for gatherings in Cherbourg, at 10:30 a.m., Place du Général-de-Gaullein Coutances, at 4:30 p.m., place Saint-Nicolas and in Granville (Manche), at 10:30 a.m., market place.
70% of victims do not tell their employer
The four unions emphasize that the world of work is not spared from these scourges that are moral harassment of a sexist natureTHE sexist actionssexual harassment, sexual assault and rapes.
Studies believe in fact that 30% of employees have already been sexually harassed or assaulted at their workplace and 70% of these victims never talked about it to their employer.
A convention in 2023
CGT, FSU, CFTC and Solidaires welcome the fact that France ratified April 12, 2023 the 190e convention of the International Labor Organization against violence and harassment in the world of work, but deplore that French legislation still hasn't been compliance with this treaty.
The organizations remind the obligatory nature of the prevention plans and the setting up reporting systems.
They also wish a training obligation on these themes for all human resources staffthe staff supervisors et the elected officials in the representative bodies staff.
