Middle and high school students from South Aveyron discovering industrial careers

Since Monday November 18, the 13th edition of Industry Week has been in full swing in South Aveyron. Organized by the CCI Aveyron with the support of the Leader Aveyron business group, this initiative offers middle and high school students from , Saint-Affrique and La Cavalerie the opportunity to discover the diversity of industrial professions present in their territory.

In this context, several local companies, including Actia, Albigès, Carrosserie Artières, Boissière et Fils, Cros Delmas, Menuiseries Combes, Roussel Inox, Sévigné, Sud Métal Industrie, Sydom Aveyron, Techmay and the Société des Caves, have opened their doors to the students. Visits and interventions in schools allow young people to better understand the activities, know-how and career opportunities offered by the industrial sector.

A key moment for the orientation of young people

Since its creation in 2011, Industry Week has set itself the objective of strengthening links between the professional world and education. It also aims to change the sometimes negative perceptions associated with professions in the industry, while highlighting their importance and diversity.

In South Aveyron, nearly 250 students are participating in this event this year, a decisive moment as they prepare to define their career path. Employers, for their part, take advantage of this opportunity to remind people that they regularly recruit, particularly apprenticeships, at different levels of training. For students wishing to go further in their discovery, mini-internships in companies can be organized during school holidays.

Mobilized partners

This initiative is made possible thanks to the collaboration of numerous stakeholders, including the CCI Aveyron, the State, the Academic Inspectorate, Travail, UIMM, Leader Aveyron, Mécanic Vallée, the Mission Locale, Cap Emploi, the CMQE Industrie du Futur , the Department of Aveyron and the Region.

For any information or to organize a mini-course during the school holidays, families and schools can contact the CCI Aveyron – Millau Site on 05 65 59 59 22.
