As part of the concept “A Mont-Blanc for Marfan”, the members of the Delaf'Outdoor team have set themselves the objective of climb and descend the roof of Europe, i.e. 4,810 m of positive altitude difference and 4,810 m of negative altitude difference in less than 15 hours, on the Calvary stairs of Figeac. This solidarity challenge will take place this Saturday, November 23, 2024 between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m.
This is not the first of this type for Team Delaf'Outdoor, which had climbed the equivalent of Everest on the Grand Escalier of Rocamadour just 6 months ago…
A solidarity challenge in Figeac
In addition to the sporting and unusual side of this challenge, the six participants of the Delaf'Outdoor team are committed to the Marfan association, a rare genetic disease, to communicate to the public beautiful values of sharing and solidarity.
The key word of this day, as of the team, is conviviality. Anyone who wishes is invited to take the route with members of the team.
Go up and down the Figeac staircase 210 times
David Delafontaine is an administrator, with his brother Thomas, of the Facebook sports page Delaf'Outdoor. This volunteer firefighter from Latronquière, and trail and ultra-trail enthusiast (Diagonales des fous, UTMC, Black Mountain, GRP, etc.), chose Figeac to carry out this 2nd edition of “Un Mont-Blanc Pour Marfan”, a concept that David Delafontaine wishes to decline almost everywhere in France.
In total, the six participants will each have to go up and down the 120 m Calvary stairs 210 times to reach the summit of Mont Blanc.
