“Weather Situation to Monitor”: Haute-Corse placed on Yellow vigilance for the “rain floods” and “thunderstorms” parameters from Saturday November 9 to Sunday November 10, 2024.
Météo France has issued a yellow level weather alert “meteorological situation to monitor” for the parameters “rain floods” and “storms” from Saturday November 9 at 6 a.m to Sunday November 10, 2024until06 h at least
During the day on Saturday and during the night from Saturday to Sunday, on the coast and the eastern plain as well as on Cap Corse, storms, which were not very mobile, broke out.
They are accompanied by rain intensities of 30 to 50 mm per hour. And under long-lasting storm cells, accumulations can reach 80 to 100 mm.
Vigilance could be increased in the event of higher accumulations forecast.
The Haute-Corse prefecture calls on the population to be extremely vigilant and reiterates the precautionary instructions:
- Do not enter, on foot or by car, on a submerged path,
- Respect the diversions put in place,
- Do not shelter under the trees,
- Respect the instructions given by the security services,
- Avoid walks in the forest and outings in the mountains,
- In flood-prone areas, keep furniture out of water and monitor rising water levels,
- Do not walk along the banks of rivers located downstream of dams,
- Listen to the radio station France Bleu RCFM and France 3 Corse Via Stella,
