A former prime minister was in Indre this Friday morning. Edouard Philippe quickly went to Châteauroux to support outgoing Horizon MP François Jolivet, candidate in the 1st constituency of Indre which covers Brenne and the prefecture town. The mayor of Le Havre took a stroll through the city center, meeting traders and passers-by.

After the dissolution of the national assembly by the President of the Republic, the former prime minister wants to bring a new majority. “By declaring the dissolution of the National Assembly, he put an end to the presidential majority as it had existed since 2022. That was his decision. I see that his decision had this effect. And what I am trying to rebuild is something that is not exactly as before, but which is something new, a more open, more stable and in my opinion stronger majority, which is obviously broader, which is made up of elected officials and French people, and I believe that there are many of them, who do not identify with the uncertain and in my opinion dangerous proposals of the National Rally, nor with the ideological domination of France Insoumise over the left-wing bloc. There are many French people who do not want this choice. There are many French people who want us to talk to them seriously without proposing things that are not fundable, that are not funded, without telling them things that are not precise about what we want to do tomorrow.

Support François Jolivet

The mayor of Le Havre took a walk in the city center of Châteauroux, questioning the merchants of rue de la Poste about their establishments, shaking hands with his activists and interacting with passers-by, alongside its Horizons candidate, François Jolivet. “We must explain what we want and allow the French people to make an informed choice between different options. And if I came here to Châteauroux to support François Jolivet, it is because I think that he can be one of those who, tomorrow, will participate in the construction of a new parliamentary majority. He is a rooted MP, he was mayor, he knows all the local elected officials perfectly. And then, in Paris, he was able to fight, to advance a certain number of projects. He is a very good specialist, a recognized specialist in housing policy. So he is at the same time serious, rooted, combative. For me, these are qualities that are essential for an MP.

Or

In the street of the post office

He took a big tour of the city center

to go to the surrounding shops

The decoration store and the florist on rue Diderot including the travel agency on rue lescaroux

Surrounded by a small group of activists, municipal elected officials, the mayor of Chtrx, the president of the department Marc Fleuret and of course the outgoing deputy François Jolivet

Candidate for Horizon, the party of Édouard Philippe

Besides, it seems more like it is the former prime minister who is campaigning than the former MP.

The mayor of Le Havre therefore serves his hands,

He discusses everything and nothing with the traders

Some passers-by take him to task,

A gentlemen accuses him of having degraded the financial conditions of entrepreneurs

Another talks to him about his feeling of insecurity and reminds him of the 4 murders in Châteauroux in six weeks

Edouard Philippe listens, answers, promises like a prime minister on the move

A trip which should last three quarters of an hour and which continues until the Paris terrace
