A 31-year-old man appeared in court to answer for aggravated violence against his 30-year-old ex-wife. Sunday November 17, 2024, the defendant stabbed him in an apartment in Muttersholtz (Bas-Rhin), reports L’Alsace .

Divergent versions

The victim, who is also the mother of the accused's children, had a 9 cm scar on her left cheek. An injury which required 13 stitches, indicates the local media. When the gendarmes intervened in the home, the young woman had mentioned threats from her ex, when he spoke of a « accident ».

At the hearing, the thirty-year-old explained that he had just announced their separation to her, which was why she wanted him to “to plunge”according to him. A version contested by the victim, who claimed that it was she who had informed him of her relationship with another man that day, relates L’Alsace. The defendant was finally found guilty and received 12 months in prison, as well as 18 months of suspended probation. The exercise of his parental authority was notably withdrawn from him.
