In the alleys of the Parc Expo de Tours, funny characters are wandering around for the 9th edition of the Japan Tours Festival. They are dressed as mythical characters from pop culture. A tradition called “cosplay” directly imported from Japan.

Most of them made their costume by hand. A passion that takes time and has a cost… Up to 400 euros for some! Small selection of the most beautiful cosplays.

Journey through the ages

Viviane and her husband have been cosplaying for ten years. It’s the universe Steampunk which inspires them, a rewriting of history in the Victorian era. “I’m still very addicted to everything that is manga and anime so I find my way around very easily. You don’t have to try to understand, you have to have fun, you have to live!”she exclaims.

Season 7 of the Coupe de France de Cosplay is organized at the show on Saturday afternoon. 26 candidates selected from across France will compete in front of 6,000 spectators.
