Soft mobility is increasingly asserting itself as a key issue in the territory of the Creuse Valley community of communes. A policy illustrated by obtaining the Territoire Vélo label, the development of a circulation plan favorable to cyclists in the town center of Argenton-sur-Creuse, and the presence at Argenton station of two electric vehicles, made available to individuals by the Centre-Val de Loire Region.
It has just reached a new milestone with the delivery by the Renault garage in the Narrons area of seven electric vehicles of the Kangoo and Mégane type, to the parking lot of the community of municipalities. Four were intended for this community which did not have any until now, and will be assigned to the director of the Éguzon outdoor base, the library, the tourist office, and the heritage works department. The City of Argenton, which had already acquired five in 2018, purchased two others, and the seventh will be used by the intercommunal social action center.
Jérôme Feuillade, the manager of the Renault garage, handed over the keys of the vehicles to the president of the CDC and mayor of Argenton, Vincent Millan, who underlined the merits of this overall investment of €220,000, recalling: “Our two communities are fully participating in the ecological transition, and even to a greater extent than required by law. »
The elected official mentioned in particular the actions of the City of Argenton in terms of public lighting, insulation of municipal buildings and watering of sports facilities. It also indicated that all the tools in the green spaces department would soon be switched to electric.
