Collection with three trash cans is organized in Sept-Rivières

The three-service collection with the addition of composting begins on September 16 in Port-Cartier, Sept-Îles, Uashat mak Maliotenam.

The distribution of brown bins will begin next week in Sept-Îles. Some 9,000 rolling bins will be delivered door to door, along with a small kitchen bin and a reminder of what to put in them and what not to put in them. This is an important step in preparation for the collection of organic waste, which will start in September for Sept-Îles, but also Port-Cartier and Uashat mak Maliotenam.

USD Global is responsible for delivering brown bins in the City of Sept-Îles. This delivery will take place over a period of approximately 10 weeks. It will begin in the outlying areas; first in the west (Gallix, Clarke and Ferland), then in the east (Les Plages and Moisie), and will end with the downtown areas.

Do not feed immediately

Since brown bin collection does not begin until September 16, it is important not to put anything in the new container for now. Brown bin collection will be weekly between April and October, then every two weeks in winter.

The materials accepted in the brown bin are essentially: all food waste (including meat, bones, fish and seafood shells), garden waste and soiled paper and cardboard (including tissues and paper towels).

A wealth of information, tips and practical advice will be available on the abacadabrun.com website, so that our new sorting habits fall into place as if by magic.
