Call them Dhandi chocolates. This is the name of the new brand under which these delicacies from the laboratory of the State Biocat of Gétignéwill now be commercialized. A new identity combining the refined and the fact that they are designed by the hands of workers with mental disabilities.
Tablets, pucks, leaves, truffles or fried foods; with orange, lemon, hazelnuts, Guérande salt; dark or milk, with 45 or 70% cocoa… the range is available in 25 products. Including this World Tour box set which brings together mini tablets of all the establishment's supplier countries with cocoa contents ranging from 42% (Dominican Republic) to 100% (Ecuador).
140 m2 of brand new workshop
The chocolate factory of this establishment, which has 6 other activities, including market gardening, catering and even adapted industrial production, intends to melt more and more mouths.
We have a little bit of experience. We are on a product that 9 out of 10 French people like. With values of commitment and solidarity. We tell ourselves that we have our place.
Like Soizic, delighted to be part of a team which has greatly improved its skills.
Everyone thinks it's really good. It’s rewarding for us
The hardest part is probably not letting yourself be tempted
The Esat Biocat in mis les working hard to develop this activity.
Where we only had 25 m2 to work with, there are now 140 in this brand new space. Not counting the old premises, which serves as a storage area. The whole thing was delivered in July after five months of work. As a result, we were able to double the workforce at the start of the school year.
Dhandi the new brand
Started in 2016the activity sometimes crumbled. Until recent years when she consolidated. Orders have accelerated with the website and the store. Each spring, the special Hellfest tablet, two of which hold a pass, highlighted this production.
For the launch of the brand, we also used a global event: the Vendée Globe. The godfather of Adapei, an association which brings together 80 medico-social establishments in Loire-Atlantique welcoming people with lifelong mental disabilities, is none other than the sailor Sébastien Marsset. It was therefore decided to create a tablet on which his Imoca is drawn. We were in the village of Les Sables d'Olonne to promote the entire Dhandi range.
It is composed of spices, jams and terrines. They can be found on rue Saint-Léonard in Nantes in the grocery store which bears the same name. It is backed by a restaurant and a café.
A responsible first ambassador of the Gétigné workshop. “Committed and supportive”she summarizes.
The cocoa comes directly from certified organic farms in nine different countries. In a fair commercial organization. And then which gives employment to 8 people with disabilities, in France.
Values which inevitably give a little something extra to this team.
Adapei will become Adapeila in 2025
On January 1, 2025, Adapei will become Adapeila. The association whose mission is to provide lifelong solutions to more than 3,000 people with intellectual disabilities, autism, mental disabilities and multiple disabilities, whether for training, work or accommodation will broaden its scope of expertise. Indeed, the one which has 80 establishments in Loire-Atlantique and employs 1,800 professionals will join the Loisirs pluriel association which was in financial difficulty. This structure brings together around fifty leisure centers welcoming children with disabilities and others not.
