After the FNSEA, it was the Rural Coordination which called for strong actions on Tuesday November 19. Farmers did not hesitate to block heavy goods vehicles coming from Spain on the A9, in particular. Actions on purchasing centers are also expected.
There are 200 to 300 farmers this Tuesday, November 19 in the evening, determined to spend the night in front of the Agen prefecture (Lot-et-Garonne). Everyone wants to get tougher: “We are going to block all the freight that supplies France. So, we are going to block all the purchasing centers, we are going to block all the ports, we are going to block everything that brings food”says the president of the Chamber of Agriculture of Lot-et-Garonne. Today, it is no longer the majority union that puts the pressure on, but the Rural Coordination. The union thus dumped waste, particularly in front of the prefecture.
The demonstrators mainly blocked the A9 motorway all day. In the images, it is possible to see heavy goods vehicles stopped for kilometers. Liters of Spanish white wine are spilled on the asphalt. At the toll point on the French-Spanish border, farmers set up with provisions, ready to hold out as long as possible.
