Dordogne golfers in solidarity against Alzheimer's disease at La Marterie

36 teams from nine golf courses in Dordogne and Lot-et-Garonne competed this Sunday in the second Alzheimer 24 Trophy at La Marterie.

The agreement between Fabrice Veyssière (Lolivarie) and Philippe Lefèvre (La Marterie) triumphed in rough (43 points), with a card of nine birdies for only two bogeys. “I drove like never before and Philippe had a festival around and on the greens, a dream game,” rejoiced Fabrice Veyssière (index 7) who likes “to come and play this hilly course and always well prepared.”

For second place Louis Menini and Valentin Bourrec from Château les Merles, signed eight birdies on the first leg but only two pars to finish (41 points). Same shot less good on the last holes for the young Jérémy Ecalard and Nicolas Juvigny, also from Merles, who have to be content with third place. The consistency and experience of Alain Phelip and Frédéric Dutreux paid off, with fifteen pars and two birdies (37 points) to share fourth place with the best team from Périgueux, Jérémy Marty and Pierre Colinet (four birdies and eleven pars). ).

Overall, the young hopes of La Marterie, Tom Sénéchal and Colas Perro, created a surprise with two birdies on the first leg and a solid return to +1 (50 points). José Bexiga and Brian Gerbe (La Marterie, 44 points) beat Gilles Moreau and Baptiste Caël (43 points) for second place, thanks to their series of nine pars.

Thanks to a perfect finish, Nicolas Juvigny placed his ball one meter from the flag on the green of hole 17, 150 m away.

1,080 euros for a good cause

During the awards ceremony, Flavienne Chaussegros, the director of the club which is renewing its partnership for 2025, presented a sum of 1,080 euros to Doctor Geneviève Demoures, president of France Alzheimer Dordogne. “While Europe has approved the first immunotherapy treatment drug for Alzheimer's, your participation is a great encouragement to accelerate early detection and increase our actions to support patients and their loved ones,” thanked the latter.
