The City of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin (Manche) asked the company Smac to redo or finish portions of sidewalks with asphalt on many streets.
The order providing for these works fix it construction site for the November 18 and 19, 2024. It lists numerous streets in which the roadway could be narrowed and the parking of vehicles considered inconvenient would be prohibited: boulevard Schuman, avenue Delaville, place de la République, Grand Perroquet car park, rue de l'Alma, rue de l'Abbaye, rue de l'Onglet, rue Christine, rue Emmanuel-Liais, rue du 8 mai 1945. The rue au Blé will even be blocked at the site of the work.
On the sidewalks
But this is not heavy work. It'sasphaltred in color in this case, and not the coating, which is deposited, specifies the deputy mayor for roads Patrice Martin encountered last Thursday during the connection of the Cherbourg-en-Cotentin hospital to the provincial heat network. Asphalt is a limestone mixed with bitumen used as a coating, a smoother coating used primarily for sidewalks.
It is therefore mainly a question ofinterventions on sidewalks, particularly at the foot of the new bus shelters which were installed this spring and summer for the new Cap Cotentin transport offer.
