During the Covid 19 pandemic, the Departmental Council of Haute-Savoie, departmental vaccination center agreed with the Regional Health Agency, acquired a specially equipped vehicle (VASP) in order to set up a mobile vaccination unit. As the vaccination campaign no longer requires the use of this vehicle, the Department has decided to sell it in order to satisfy the need of a public association while avoiding damage linked to non-use. The Departmental Council chose to award it to the French Red Cross, recognized as being of public utility since 1940, which implements several solidarity missions in favor of populations, both at local and national level. This social actor notably offers emergency aid to deal with large-scale crises (storms, fires), carries out prevention and awareness-raising actions, and proposes actions for the most deprived (food aid, marauding, etc.)

Acquired by the Departmental Council of Haute-Savoie for an amount of €24,000, this vehicle will enable the Red Cross section of Haute-Savoie to deploy its aid to the most deprived in the entire department, in line with the policy pursued by the Departmental Council.
